Adwords Program: Google Adwords Program Is The Answer

Go to Link
If you want a successful business you need to advertise that business.

No matter if you have a product to sell to others or have a service you can perform for a fee.

One of the best ways to do this is to advertise with a Google Adwords program.

If you have the budget, a Google Adwords program will help you get the quality traffic to your site to make the sales you need to grow your business.

How this all works is by CPC, or cost per click.

This means you only pay when someone clicks on your ad to get to your site to see what you are selling. The ad you plce must be compelling enough to lure your customers to you.

If you are new to this type of advertising, you should begin by using the starter edition. It is easy to set up and get started.

Go to Google and select "starter edition". You will be prompted to target the type of customer you want by choosing the region you are in and the language spoken in that region.

Next, you will be prompted to create your ad. You should have already put some thought into this beforehand so you know what to write so you do not waste valuable time trying to come up with something on the fly.

You will need to fill in the URL for your site so that you can link your new ad to it.

How else are you going to get the customers, right?

Next, create a headline for your ad. If you have put thought into this you probably have a good one already. Make sure that it hits the high points of your business and your product or service.

Use relevant keywords. Prior to setting all of this up you should also have done some keyword research to find relevant keywords you can use to bring in the quality customers that will convert to sales.

Keyword research is time-consuming but if you find that special one or two that work well for you you are way ahead of the game and will have customers like you never thought possible.

You can try out many different keywords at different times to see what works the best for your business.

Next, you will need to set up your budget. Budgets can be set anywhere from $30 per month (which will not really get you any where fast), on up to tens of thousands of dollars per month.

The higher you set your budget the more chances you have that someone will click your ad.

Now you will be able to set up your account by entering an email address and password. If you already have a gmail account then you can just go ahead and use that one to do all of this.

All that is left now is to activate your account.

You may be sent a confirmation email to do this by clicking on a link in that email.

Log in and submit your accurate billing information. You are now a proud owner of an Adwords program.

Link Building Campaign: Come Up With Successful Plan

Coming up with a successful link building campaign can be a little challenging. Even if you got your website squared away, the link building aspect of it can be very confusing for someone just starting out.

Back links are important because they work alongside Search Engine Optimization in determining your page rank. This rank determines what page your website ends up on in a google search. You want to get as close to page one as possible.

There are a lot of methods in acquiring back links, whether it is buying them from directories or getting them through blogs. Finding a strategy that works for you can be a pain. But even after that you have to make sure you are getting quality back links.

There are tips to help you make sure you are getting the best back links you can. These tips are not the be all end all of a successful link building campaign, but they can lay the foundation and get you on your way.

1: Quantity. Make sure to get as many back links as you. There is a lot of competition out there and if they get more back links then you, you can fall behind. So it is important to get as many links as you possibly can.

2: Quality. Quality is exceptionally important when it comes to a link building campaign. You want to make sure you have the best possible links out there. The higher quality the back link, the more it effects your website and the closer it can get you to page one.

3: Relevancy. Getting a lot of quality back links is important, but if they have nothing to do with your website they are entirely worthless to you. So make sure to get back links from websites that share the same niche as your site.

4: Avoid no follow links. A lot of links now days have a "no follow" tag applied to it to deter spammers. However because of this tag, that link is not counted as a back link by google's SEO. Because of this they are worthless for promoting your website.

5: Focus on high ranked websites. Quality back links are important, and one of the best ways of getting them is from high page rank websites. The higher the page rank for that website, the more value it's back link holds and the more it will help you out.

6: Permanent back links. Getting back links can be time consuming so having them taken away is not a fun thing to deal with. Make sure the back links you are getting are permanent and do not come with a time limit or other restrictions.

Getting your link building campaign off the ground can be hard as there is a lot that needs to be done. However once you get going it can become a lot easier. But no matter what try to remind yourself that, as tedious as it may be, it is all for the sake of earning you the money you want.

Link Building Services: Take The Stress Out

Starting your own website can be a daunting task as there are a lot of things you have to put into it to get it up and running.

But even once you get your website running, you need to make people aware of it's existence and drive traffic to it. The best way to get traffic to your website is using link building services.

Link building is the process of acquiring links from one website to yours.

Essentially another website will have a link to your website. This works in tandem with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If your website has a lot of back links, it tells google that your website has quality content and so google will bump you up the pages.

The closer you are to page one, the better off you are.

We have all done google searches before, and we generally find what we need on the first few pages. So for those of you on say, page twenty, you are not getting much traffic at all. So you want to try and get your website as close to page one as you can.

There are two types of back links out there.

There are One Way back links which are as the name sounds. Another website will link to your website, but you will not link to theirs. This is the most effective means of building up your list of back links. It is also what link building services provide.

The other type of back link is reciprocal back links, or mutual back links. With these another website will link to yours, but you will also link back to them. These types of back links are not as beneficial but they are easier to come by, in case you want to go at this solo.

Another thing to keep in mind when working with back links is that they are not all equal. Simply getting a back link does not guarantee you success.

The type of back link you get is also very important. What I mean by this is that, if you get a back link from a website on page twenty, it will not do you as good as a back link from a website on page one.

Getting back links from high ranked websites gives you a larger boost since it tells google's SEO that a quality website believes you have quality content as well. It is like getting a recommendation from someone high up in the food chain.

There are a lot of link building services out there willing to help you create a list of back links. These generally are not free though.

But if you have the money available it is smart to make use of these services.

While they do cost money, they provide quality, high ranked one way back links to get your website up to where you want it to be.

Setting up a list of back links can be tough and time consuming. But it is about the only way you will get your website the kind of traffic it needs to make you the money you want.

A Brief History of Search Engine Optimization

A Brief History of Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is the art and science of making web pages attractive to internet search engines.

Some interne t businesses consider search engine optimization to be the subset of search engine marketing.

In the middle of the 1990s webmasters and search engine content providers started optimizing websites.

At the time all the webmasters had to do was provide a URL to a search engine and a web crawler would be sent from the search engine.

The web crawler would extract link from the webpage and use the information to index the page by down loading the page and then storing it on the search engines server.

Once the page was stored on the search engines server a second program, called an indexer, extracted additional information from the webpage, and determines the weight of specific words. When this was complete the page was ranked.

It didn't take very long for people to understand the importance of being highly ranked.

In the beginning search engines used search algorithms that webmasters provided about the web pages.

It didn't take webmasters very long to start abusing the system requiring search engines to develop a more sophisticated form of search engine optimization.

The search engines developed a system that considered several factors; domain name, text within the title, URL directories, term frequency, HTML tags, on page key word proximity, Alt attributes for images, on page keyword adjacency, text within NOFRAMES tags, web content development, sitemaps, and on page keyword sequence.

Google developed a new concept of evaluating internet web pages called PageRank. PageRank weighs a web page's quantity and quality based on the pages incoming links.

This method of search engine optimization was so successful that Google quickly began to enjoy successful word of mouth and consistent praise.

To help discourage abuse by webmasters, several internet search engines, such as Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Ask.com, will not disclose the algorithms they use when ranking web pages.

The signals used today in search engine optimization typically are; keywords in the title, link popularity, keywords in links pointing to the page, PageRank (Google), Keywords that appear in the visible text, links from on page to the inner pages, and placing punch line at the top of the page.

For the most part registering a webpage/website on a search engine is a simple task. All Google requires is a link from a site already indexed and the web crawlers will visit the site and begin to spider its contents.

Normally a few days after registering on the search engine the main search engine spiders will begin to index the website.

Some search engines will guarantee spidering and indexing for a small fee. These search engines do not guarantee specific ranking.

Webmaster's who don't want web crawlers to index certain files and directories use a standard robots.txt file. This file is located in the root directory. Occasionally a web crawler will still crawl a page even if the webmaster has indicated he does not wish the page indexed.

Algorithms: The Foundation of Search Engine Optimization

In the ninth century Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, a Persian mathematician, introduced algebrac concepts and Arabic numerals while he was working in Baghdad.

During the time Baghdad was the international center for scientific study. Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi's process of performing arithmetic with Arabic numerals was called algorism. In the eighteenth century the name evolved into algorithm.

Algorithms are a finite set of carefully defined instruction. Algorithms are procedures that are used for accomplishing some task which will end in a defined end-state. Algorithms are used in linguistics, computers, and mathematics.

Many people like to think of algorithms as steps in a well written recipe.

Provided you follow each step of the recipe to the letter you will have an edible dinner. As long as you follow each step of the algorithm you will find the proper solution. Simple algorithms can be used to design complex algorithms.

Computers use algorithms as a way to process information.

All computer programs are created with algorithms (or series of algorithms) that give the computer a list of instructions to follow.

Computers usually read data from an input device when using an algorithm to process information. In order to be successful algorithms need to be carefully defined for a computer to read them.

Program designers need to consider every possible scenario that could arise and set up a series of algorithms to resolve the problem. Designers have to be very careful not to change the order of the instructions; computers cannot cope with an algorithm that is in the wrong place. Flow of control refers to how the list of algorithms must start at the top and go all the way to the bottom, following every single step on the way.

Some terms that are used to describe algorithms include natural languages, flowcharts, psudocode, and programming languages.

Natural expression algorithms are generally only seen in simple algorithms. Computers generally use programming languages that are intended for expressing algorithms.

There are different ways to classify algorithms. The first is by the specific type of algorithm. Types of algorithms include recursive and interative algorithms, deterministic and non-deterministic algorithms, and approximation algorithms.

The second method used to classify algorithms is by their design methodology or their paradigm. Typical paradigm is are divide and conquer, the greedy method, linear programming, dynamic programming, search and enumeration, reduction, and probalictic and heuristic paradigms.

Different fields of scientific study have different ways of classifying algorithms, classified to make their field as efficient as possible.

Some different types of algorithms different scientific fields use include; search algorithms, merge algorithms, string algorithms, combinatorial algorithms, cryptography, sorting algorithms, numerical algorithms, graph algorithms, computational geometric algorithms, data compression algorithms, and parsing techniques.

Internet search engines use algorithms to aid in search engine optimization. Google's web crawler's use a link analysis algorithm to index and rank web pages.

In an attempt to prevent webmasters from using underhanded schemes to influence search engine optimization, many internet search engines disclose as little about the algorithms they use in their optimization techniques.

Search Engine Optimization and the Knight

Search Engine Optimization and the Knight

On October 15, 1881 a baby by the name of Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (Plum to his friends) was born. In 1996, one hundred and fifteen years later, a brand new internet search engine would be named in honor of him, sort of.

P.G. Wodehouse was an extremely popular English writer who had a flair for comedy.

Magazines like The Saturday Evening Post and The Strand serialized his novels while he spent time in Hollywood working as a screenwriter. P.G. Wodehouse had an incredibly prolific flair for writing.

His writing career officially started in 1902 and ended in 1975. During that time he wrote ninety-six books, several collections of short stories, screenplays, and one musical.

When he was ninety-three years old, P.G. Wodehouse was made a Knight of the British Empire. Two of Mr. Wodehouse's most famous characters(or perhaps infamous, depending on your point of view), are the bumbling Bertie Wooster and his long suffering valet, Jeeves.

P.G. Wodehouse will always be remembered for his comedic approach to writing.

In 1996, when Garret Gruener and David Warthen needed a name for the internet search engine they created they choose the name of Wodehouse's fictional valet. The website was called Ask Jeeves. Jeeves remained the search engines mascot until the company retired him on February 27, 2006 a decision they announced on September 23, 2005.

Jeeves retirement prompted the internet search engine to create a page titled "Where's Jeeves", that listed a variety of creative activities, including growing grapes and space exploration, the valet planned to do during his retirement. With Jeeves retired the search engine simply became Ask.com.

During his reign at Ask Jeeves, the valet was always impeccably dressed in a beautifully tailored black suit, shiny shoes, and red tie.

Although his posture changed almost yearly on the company logo he always had the same amicable smile.

When it was first created the idea behind Ask.com (back then it was still Ask Jeeves) questions would be posed in regular language and answers would be hunted down and provided.

The creators of Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com) hoped that internet users would be drawn to the intuitive, user friendly style.

The growing popularity of keyword search engines like Yahoo! and Google prompted the powers-that-be at Ask Jeeves to overhaul their search engine to include keyword searches in addition to answering questions.

Because Ask.com was not as quick to index new websites as some of its competitors its was not bogged down with computer generated linkspam., when users were unable to find usable web pages on the three most popular internet search engines, they turned to Ask.com who still had viable pages readily available.

Today, Ask.com uses the ExpertRank algorithm to provide its users with search results. Ask.com uses link popularity and subject-specific popularity to help determine rankings.

Ask.com has sold technology has been sold to additional corporations including Toshiba and Dell.

A variety of web destinations, including country specific, sites such as; Germany, Italy, Excite, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain, IWon.com, Bloglines, and Ask For Kids are owned by Ask.com.

Search Engine Optimization: Hoaxes

Google believes in having a good time.

They especially believe in having a good time on April Fools Day. How does a company who runs a search engine celebrate April Fool's Day? They set up search engine hoaxes.

April Fool's Day hoaxes are fast becoming a Google tradition.

On April 1, 2000, Google announced its brand new form of search technology, a technology they cheerfully named MentalPlex.

How did MentalPlex work? Brainwaves, all the searcher had to do was think about what they wanted to search for, this eliminated the need for typing, effectively eliminating the issue of spelling errors.

In 2002, Google openly discussed the genius behind its PageRank system. The secret? Pigeons or rather PigeonRank. Google was very proud of the way they had created a more efficient and cost effective way to rank pages. They were quick to explain that no pigeons were cruelly treated.

April 2004 offered Google employees the opportunity to work at the Google Lunar/Copernicus Center...on the moon. This April Fool's Day prank made several tongue-in-cheek references to WindowXP's visual style. They named the operating system Luna/X paying homage to Linux.

Google broke into the beverage industry in 2005 with their Google Gulp. People who drank Google Gulp would be able to get the most out of their Google search engines because they would be increasing their intelligence with every swallow.

Google Gulp worked through a series of algorithms that used a real time analysis of the drinkers DNA and made precise adjustments to the brains neurotransmitters.

Google Gulp came in a variety of flavors including Google Grape (glutamatic acid), Sero-Tonic Water (serotonin), Sugar-Free Radical (free radicals), and Beta Carroty (beta carotene).

2006 was a time for romance. Google created Google Romance. Google's catch phrase, which appeared on the main search page was, "Dating is a search problem.

Solve it with Google Romance." Google users were invited to use Soul mate Search which would send them on a Contextual Date. Google invited people to "post multiple profiles with a bulk upload."

Google has also taken advantage of April Fool's Day to announce very real changes in the company. The reason they make real offers to consumers on April Fool's Day is so that the consumers will think that it's a hoax, joke about it, and then be pleasantly surprised when they find out that its real.

Google announced the launch of Gmail, e-mail that was free to the consumer and provided one entire gigabyte of storage (that amount of storage for free was unheard of at the time), on March 31, 2004 (most consumers found out about it on the morning of the first).

Exactly one year later they announce that they were increasing the one gigabyte of storage to two gigabytes.

Google's map of the moon was added to Google maps on July 20, 2005. The map of the moon was semi-real, it did show NASA images of a very small section of the moon, but zooming in on the tiny section presented viewers with a photograph of Swiss cheese.

There was also the location of all moon landings on the map. The map was Google's way of celebrating the thirty-sixth anniversary of the first man on the moon but many consumers assumed that it was an extension on the Google Copernicus hoax.

Google claims, through something called Google Moon, that in the 2069, Google Local will support all lunar businesses and addresses.

The Definition of Search Engine Optimization

The Definition of Search Engine Optimization

Too many webpage owners feel that once they submit their page a search engine they are guaranteed success.

That's generally not the case. Simply submitting your web page to a search engine is not always enough to get any hits. Most web pages require search engine optimization to become truly successful.

Search engine optimization is the art and science of making web pages attractive to the search engines.

The goal of search engine optimization is to have your website ranked in the top ten internet search hits that appear on the first page.

Why is it important to be on the first page? It's important because the average internet user doesn't click on any of the sites listed on the second or third page.

Out of sight, out of mind. One website owner reported a two hundred and ten percent increase on her e-commerce sight when she had her webpage redesigned for optimal search engine optimization.

You would think that the prospect of a two hundred and ten percent increase in sales would be all the incentive a webmaster would need to redesign their site. That isn't always the case. There are a variety of reasons people avoid recreating their websites.

Some people believe that search engine optimization is too difficult to understand.

The reality is that search engine optimization is fairly simple. All it takes is a little research and most people are ready to rock.

Other people feel that there are simply too many things to learn before they will be ready to optimize their website. Search engine optimization is just like anything else. When you first start out you know nothing. With some homework and a bit of trial and error and you will know exactly what it takes to make your webpage popular with the web crawlers.

Some people believe that search engine optimization will take up lots of their precious time.

People with this particular fear should remember that old adage about time and money.

If time spent optimizing your website leads to an increase in sales isn't it time well spent?

Besides search engine optimization is easy, once you have the hang of it won't add much to the time you would already have to devote to updating your website.

You do not have to submit to gobs of search engines to reap the rewards of search engine optimization.

If you have a large site you shouldn't worry about spending lots of time optimizing it and running the risk of never finishing the process.

If you have a large website just take things one step at a time.

Focus on optimizing on page per day. Start with your most important pages and then concentrate on the irrelevant pages.

By using this one page a day method you won't run the risk of sitting at your computer until your eyeballs fall out of your head.

It might take some time and some trial and error to optimize your website but you will consider it time well spent when you see an increase in the amount of traffic, the increase in traffic should lead to more sales.

Making Your Site SEO Friendly: Find Away On Your SEO Site

Having a website doesn't mean much if nobody sees it.

You could have the most awesome website on the planet, but if people don't visit it, then it's the same as if it doesn't exist at all. Making your site SEO friendly increases the chances of your site being seen.

SEO (search engine optimization) covers everything you do to improve your site's position in the search engines.

A large percentage of people find new websites by using a search engine, but they will only go through so many results before visiting a site or trying a new keyword phrase.

In fact, the further down your site is listed, the less chance there is that anybody will see it.

The difference between the first page of results and the second page is huge.

If you want your site to be seen, then you need to do whatever you can to have it listed on the first page of the search engine results.

In theory, SEO is fairly simple: you do a few things to your website and it starts to move higher in the search engine results.

While that's what it boils down to, making your site SEO friendly is a bit more complicated, and can be, at times, quite frustrating if you don't do it right. The good news is that there are a few relatively easy things that you can start doing right away to help move your site higher up the search engine results.

You need to invest some time researching the best keywords for your website.

The best keywords get plenty of searches, have relatively low competition, and also have an action element built into them.

There is no magic number for the number of searches any particular keyword should have, and the same applies to the amount of competition (or how the competition is measured).

That brings us to the concept of the "action element", which refers to keywords that show the person searching is already looking to do something related to your site.

For example, if you offer a how-to guide on making tutus, then keywords like "tutu patterns" and "how to make tutus" would include a relevant action element, and would therefore make ideal keywords for your site.

There is more to making your site SEO friendly than just choosing the right keywords, though. Having relevant content is also very important.

See, search engines make money, ultimately, by having a lot of users, and people flock to the search engines that provide the most relevant results based on their searches.

It only makes sense that when you give the search engines what they want, they will give you what you want, which is to appear closer to the top of the results.

A good rule of thumb to make sure you are doing this is to write your content for people first, and search engines second.

Common SEO Mistakes-Tips To Help You Not Make These Mistakes

Common SEO Mistakes-Tips To Help You Not Make These Mistakes

SEO (short for search engine optimization) is a collection of methods that are used to move a website higher in the results when someone uses a search engine.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation floating around about what works and what doesn't. Here are a few of the most common SEO mistakes and what you can do to avoid them.

1. Using the wrong keywords.

This is such an easy mistake to make.

One of the biggest problems is that people tend to go after the search terms that get the most searches, but that isn't always the smartest way to go.

The keywords that get the most searches almost always have the most competition and can put you at a disadvantage when starting out.

It's okay to use keywords with fewer searches if they fit in with your overall SEO plan.

2. Tag confusion.

A few years ago you could get away with stuffing your meta tags with all of your keywords, and that would be enough to move you higher up in the search engines.

Today, a lot of the bigger search engines virtually ignore your meta tags when determining where you will place in the results.

However, that doesn't mean that other tags don't matter.

You can still use meta tags, but you don't have to stuff them with keywords, instead, use them to write a good description of your site and fill in other useful meta information.

Heading tags, alt tags and tags used for emphasis can give your keywords and images extra weight, so use them wisely.

3. Having a site that uses Flash only.

Flash is a wonderful tool when used properly, but the spiders sent by the search engines can't read it.

Not everybody likes a Flash-only website, but if you have good reasons for using Flash, be sure to include an HTML version of your website so the search engines have something to rank your site with.

4. Java Script.

Similar to Flash, Java Script can't be read by the search engines. It's easy to use various Java Script applications on your website, but be careful with where and how you use them.

One of the more common SEO mistakes is to use Java for menus on a website.

That's one of the worst ways to use Java Script because you will lose all of the SEO benefits that come with internally linking your pages. In other words, if you must use Java Script, don't use it for your menus.

5. Relying black hat SEO techniques.

Yes, black hat SEO can and does work, but only for a while; eventually the big search engines figure out the black hat methods and then they change their algorithms to make those methods ineffective.

When this happens, your page can move down in the results instantly. In the long run, black hat SEO takes more work, so do your best to play by the rules.

Avoiding these common SEO mistakes will help you place higher in the search engine results.

Google Keywords Tool Can Improve Your Ads

Google Keywords Tool Can Improve Your Ads

You can improve your ads ranking on the search results page if you fine relevant keywords to use in your ad by putting the Google keywords tool to good use.

When you search for keywords it is best to find keywords that have the highest average cost per click if your budget can handle it.

Google ads are the ones that show up on the right side of the search results page. If you want your ad to rank high on the results pages you have to have a page that is optimized.

This how you will get the most traffic to your site.

The Google keywords tool is easy and free to use even if you do not have an active AdWords account.

However, you will not have access to the all-important cost-per-click information unless you do have an AdWords account. So your first step is to sign in to AdWords and register.

The AdWords account is also free to you.

Once you have an AdWords account then you can start your keyword research by going to the website and typing in a keyword or keyword phrase or the URL for your website into the text box.

Click the AdWords button then enter the security Captcha then click the search button.

The tool will automatically show you a list of relevant terms you can analyze to find what will work for you.

Pay attention to the column that shows the average CPC.

This is where you will make your money.

Do not choose any keyword that has an average CPC of less than $0.50.

These keywords are not worth your time.

The best keywords are those with a CPC higher than $0.50 and a competition of less than 3.00.

If you find a keyword that fits these criteria you can try to use it for your ad.

You will have to test it to see how it performs out in the marketplace. Pick a keyword and then write your ad.

Test each ad, one at a time, for two weeks with a different keyword for every two week trial. Track the results and then try out another keyword for another two weeks

This is a good way to find a niche as well. If you are into niche marketing then you can analyze this keyword further to see if you can find out if a website is available.

If there is a website available then you could turn around and buy the domain name.

The all you have to do is put up a website and use that keyword to drive traffic to your new site.

If you already have a website and are just trying to drive traffic by placing an ad on Google then you must look at the Local and Global Monthly Search tabs to find out how many people search for that term every month.

Obviously, the more people searching for that term the better. Effectively using the Google keywords tool can mean money in the bank for you.
